AMD RYZEN 9 9950X3D

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D is a 16-core, 32-thread desktop processor designed for high-end gaming and content creation. Part of the Ryzen 9000 series, it utilizes the Zen 5 "Granite Ridge" architecture and features AMD's 2nd-generation 3D V-Cache technology. It was announced at CES 2025 and released on March 12, 2025.

Key Features

• 3D V-Cache: The processor includes an additional 64MB of 3D V-Cache stacked on one of its core complex dies (CCDs), bringing the total L3 cache to 128MB. This technology is designed to reduce latency for enhanced gaming performance and other bandwidth-sensitive tasks.
• Dual-CCD design: The 9950X3D is built with two CCDs, but only one is equipped with the 3D V-Cache. This allows the non-cache CCD to operate at higher clock speeds, improving overall performance.
• High thermal headroom: Unlike some previous X3D chips, the 9950X3D has a higher thermal design power (TDP) of 170W, giving it more thermal headroom for higher clock speeds. This higher power limit is possible due to a repositioning of the 3D V-Cache, which helps it run cooler.
• Improved efficiency tuning: The processor offers the flexibility to adjust power settings, with an "Eco Mode" that allows users to reduce power consumption while giving up minimal gaming performance.
